Design Engineer - To start ASAP

My Client is looking for a Design Engineer with a practical background e.g. time served engineer / mechanical apprenticeship to join their busy, innovative North East business.

Qualifications - HNC minimum, but preferably degree qualified.

Engineering Experience - ‘hands-on’ project involvement, i.e. involved from project inception through to final assembly and commissioning Candidates should also have project management experience.

Interfacing with various departments - QA, finance (accounts), assembly etc.

CAD - experience with 3D CAD systems, preferably Inventor, but other packages would be considered, e.g. , Pro Engineer, Solidworks, etc.

Areas of Experience - Oil & Gas; Automotive; Aerospace - should be able to demonstrate engineering ‘understanding’ of problems and provide suitable options/ concepts to solve the presented issues.

Personality - self-starter with a ‘can do’ attitude. Should be able to promote themselves in a professional manner.

Should be a team player, but able to work on their own initiative.

Commercial Awareness - should understand the ‘value’ of components and design to suit the application and purpose.

Should have an interest in various technologies as the role will encompass, electronics; software development; hydraulics / pneumatics; signal processing etc.

Generally a good all rounder as far as engineering skills; communication skills and a person who will fit into a team of achievers.
