The Team

In an industry which traditionally boasts a high staff turnover, Solutions breaks the mould, and has individuals who have been with us for nearly 20 years! Lets meet the team......

Michael Grayson
Director

Time with Solutions: 3 years
A Little about Me: A forensic accountant by trade but a business entrepreneur by spirit. Ruthless ambition to succeed and be the best I can be. I like to lead and make decisions. I'd rather take the decision and face the consequences than let others decide something I don't agree with.
Pet Hates: People who lack ambition

Ian O'Brien
Director

Time with Solutions: 3 years
A Little about Me: I'm the Group Finance Director, Company Secretary & Compliance Officer which means I'm responsible for the financial affairs of the Solutions Group. I qualified as a Chartered Certified Accountant in 2003 and as an IMC qualified member of the UK Society of Investment Professionals in 2008. Since joining Solutions in 2009, I've certainly had my eyes opened to a variety of different, interesting people (that's just the staff) and I look forward to coming into work each day (sad). I'm responsible for most tenders in the business and seek to develop key accounts based on my network & experience with the ultimate goal to establish Solutions as a major recruitment brand across the North East.

Pet Hates: As I'm not allowed to say anthing controversial, and can't mention our rivals...I shall have to stick to Manchester United FC

Lee Andrews
Managing Director

Time with Solutions: 19 years this year!
A Little about Me: I've had the pleasure of growing and developing Solutions from it's humble beginnings which brings me enormous satisfaction. This is definitely a marmite business, mind you, but I wouldn't want to do anything else. I thrive on its daily variety and challenges. On a personal note, I like to think I'm still 25 so I play football three times a week, although I'm not sure how much longer my joints will hold out! And, when I'm not physically chasing round at 100mph I love the fast pace of Chris Ryan and Andy McNab novels.
Pet Hates: Drivers who don't indicate, people who think the world owes them a living and Ryanair!

Melanie Ieronymides - Field Sales
Melanie is a female entrepreneur that has set up a variety of successful retail and internet businesses. She is particularly strong at spotting an opportunity and developing it into a financial success. Melanie has exceptional business development skills and operates for Solutions out within the marketplace, promoting the brand and spotting placement opportunities for us. Due to her exceptional business acumen she also inputs to the overall business strategy at board level. She acts as a floating presence on the board advising the other directors on the future approach for the business. It is fantastic for the company to have independent business input from a successful female entrepreneur.

Chris Simmons

Time with Solutions: > 1 year
A Little about Me: I joined Solutions in April 2011 as a trainee Recruitment Consultant. I progressed quickly and currently work on one of our largest industrial contracts alongside Michaela Robertson and Lucie Lowe. Working in the industrial team is fun but requires lots of hard work at all hours of the day to ensure the division runs seamlessly. Outside of work, I am a keen golfer and was a full time caddy on the European Seniors Tour in both 2010 and 2011. I have been offering my golfing expertise to some of the Solutions team, as well as entertaining clients on the golf course in my spare time.

Pet Hates: Mushrooms

Lucie Lowe
Recruitment Consultant - Industrial

Time with Solutions: > 1 year
A Little about Me: I work in the industrial team and supply manufacturing companies. I'm very personable and like to build excellent relationships with both clients and candidates. Nothing is too much trouble and for my sins I work round the clock to ensure all our clients' requirements are met. Prior to working in recruitment, I used to co-ordinate all the trades required on large building projects.

A Little about Me: An enthusiastic recruiter and full time Formula One geek. At Solutions I work on the IT division recruiting candidates into all roles from helpdesk roles right through to senior management roles. I enjoy my work but also enjoy being a mum. Love going out with friends and love anything to do with travelling and climbing!!
Pet Hates: Rudeness, arrogance and traffic jams.

Jo Knaggs
Senior Recruitment Consultant - IT

Time with Solutions: 8 years
A Little about Me: An experienced recruiter, with OCD, I've headed up the IT division here for the last 4.5 years. It might sound like a bit of a cliche, but I really love my job. The challenge of finding the right person for a client, never fails to inspire me. Everything I have in life I have worked for - this is why I take my work seriously and always give 100%. I definitely thrive under pressure at work, so bring it on! Having recently taken up golf, I've found I am hitting my boyfriend a lot less.
Pet Hates: Writing blurb for website profiles of myself, using ceiling lights at home and the length of time it takes me to get rid of a cold!

John Barron
Finance Recruitment Director

Time with Solutions: 2 years
A Little about Me: I have worked in Recruitment for 6 years, primarily in the North East. The majority of my recruitment career has been with International agencies which offered me an excellent grounding and commercial edge. However, since joining Solutions, I have enhanced my skills, coming now from an SME business, I like to get to know my clients, building relationships and doing good business, not just the 'do the deal and move on' mentality. I still get a buzz from making a placement but also from assisting and advising a client in personnel matters aiding their growth and development.
I am married with 3 amazing kids, so my home life is hectic, but I must admit, being a big kid at heart means I really enjoy my family time, I'm now looking forward to the day my eldest asks me (or Mr Claus) for a Scalextric set.
